You should make sure that you have a plan in place for following up on these leads before you import them, as importing a large number of leads without a plan could mess up the CRM and make it less effective.

Create leads from subpanels. You can create a lead from the subpanel of a related module, such as the accounts module. When you create a lead from a subpanel, some of the fields in the lead creation form will be automatically filled in with information from the related module.
