Bug in WhatsApp Messgae through Mobile CRM

Number already has 86 as country code still WhatsApp adds another+91 to check if WhatsApp available or not and thus results in number not on WhatsApp

Hi @indarxiaolu

It seems you have not entered + before the country code 86.

When you don’t enter + in before your country code then CRM considers country code is not entered and takes +91 as default country code.

Please try editing this record and enter the number as +86138________. It will resolve your issue.

Let me know if this works for you and don’t forget to mark this reply as solution.

Yes agreed and that I know but it’s a manual work it will solve the problem. But an admin can not spend his whole time editing all contacts manually to add + sign. Uploads doesn’t accept special characters in number field. Just + sign also cannot be added to Excel csv file the total number changes while uploading. To keep it unchanged in excel need to add another sign ’ before + but CRM will not accept.

Even though without + sign web whatsapp is working fine without adding +91 to it but mobile whatsapp is adding +91 to everynumber .

Even if there is any system to do mass addition by adding + sign through CRM before all number would also can solve this problem

@indarxiaolu I understand your frustration due to excel format and CRM’s need for + sign

But there is very simple trick to overcome this challenge.

When you are preparing the excel sheet for importing the data in CRM, change the number format of those cell to “text”

This way + sign will be retained along with country code and you can easily import it in your CRM.

Imported numbers will have + sign with country code and then you will be able to send the whatsapp messages seamlessly.

I have also attached screen recording for your ease to understand it.

I hope this solves your query.

Hello Sir,

Thank you for raising this concern. I understand the challenges with manually editing contacts to add the ‘+’ sign and the issues with special characters during CSV uploads. We’re aware that while web WhatsApp handles numbers without the country code, mobile WhatsApp automatically adds ‘+91,’ which leads to inconsistencies.

To address this, we’ll include a solution in the next update of the Sangam Mobile CRM that will validate numbers before adding the country code, preventing it from being unnecessarily added. You can expect the application update by the 21st of this month.

This should streamline the process and help reduce the need for manual edits.
