  • Go to Admin Panel: Navigate to Admin > Auto Number Generate > Create.

  • Select the Module: Choose where the auto-number will apply, like Lead or Opportunity.

  • Define Field Name: Enter a field name, e.g., “Lead Number”.

  • Set Number Format: Customize the format to fit your needs (e.g., add prefixes, branch, date, sequence or Field).

  • Pre Digits (Number Format Pre Digits): This field sets a static prefix at the beginning of every auto-generated number. For example, setting “1” will make the auto numbers start with “1”, like “1-0001”, “1-0002”, etc.

  • Branch Field: This option enables branch-specific numbering if your organization has multiple branches. Each branch can have a unique sequence, ensuring identifiers remain distinct per location.

  • Reset No: Specifies how often the numbering sequence should reset, such as monthly or yearly. If set to “Monthly,” the sequence will restart at “1” each month.

  • Reset From (Calendar or Financial Year): Defines when the reset should begin. If set to Calendar (From 01 Jan), the sequence will restart at the beginning of each calendar year.

    1. Monthly: Numbering resets to “1” every month (e.g., January: 1, 2… February: 1, 2…).
    2. Yearly: Numbering resets to “1” each year (e.g., 2024: 1, 2… 2025: 1, 2…).
    3. Never: Numbering continues without resetting, ideal for unique, ongoing records.
  • Enable Condition Field: This optional setting enables conditional resets. When activated, the reset behavior depends on specific field values in records, like status or type. For example, it could reset only when a particular condition is met.

  • Condition Field: Works with the Enable Condition Field setting. Specify a field whose value triggers the reset, allowing custom resets based on record properties.

  • Reset No Branch Wise: When enabled, this setting applies resets on a per-branch basis. Each branch will have a separate sequence that resets independently, perfect for organizations tracking records in multiple locations.

To display the auto-number field, configure it in Studio:

  1. Detail View: Enable the field for display in the detail view, which shows a comprehensive view of each record.
  2. List View: Display the field in list view for an overview of all records.

Note: It’s advisable to avoid displaying this field in the edit view on both mobile and web layouts, as editing the auto number can disrupt the numbering sequence
